Heather Alexander is the author of more than forty books for children, both fiction and non-fiction. Her early chapter book series, The Amazing Stardust Friends (Scholastic), was published in February 2015, and her middle grade novel, Picture Perfect #1: Bending Over Backwards (HarperCollins), debuted in January 2015. In 2016, her newest non-fiction titles will be released: A Child’s Introduction to Natural History (Black Dog & Leventhal/Hachette), Who is Hillary Clinton? (Grosset & Dunlap), and Meet the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team (Grosset & Dunlap). Other titles in her non-fiction A Child’s Introduction series include: A Child’s Introduction to Greek Mythology, A Child’s Introduction to the World, and A Child’s Introduction to Art (Black Dog & Leventhal/Hachette), which was listed as Amazon Best Non-Fiction of 2014 and received the Silver Medal Parent’s Choice Award. The former Editorial Director of prominent children’s packager, Parachute Press, Heather has edited over 100 children’s fiction series, including the bestselling Goosebumps and the early chapter mystery series, The New Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley. She graduated from Cornell University. Heather lives in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, with her husband and two daughters.
